What is design? Is it a mere semblance of ideas or emotion arranged to be accessible to our senses? Each designer, each creator has different drives for their work but many common aspects of every creative field share certain aspects of design. Merriam Webster’s would describe it by rank of definition as: verb “to outline, indicate, mean” noun “a particular purpose held in view by an individual or group”.

What do we derive from this? I can only answer for myself, each particular act of designing does hold a set of ideas expressed in forms that can be commonly interpreted; a writer designs thoughts inside a readers head they use words to express themselves to a greater extent they allow the reader to use their own sense of reality to play upon and dabble in the concept laid before them, now not directly responsible for the feeling the reader has they have played a part. They act as a catalyst to achieve their goal which if we believe it to be true to the definition they are going along the correct path to do so.

Within the realm of development and design there are many challenges awaiting the designator there are many different working environments for said designator: collaborators, fellow designers, and clients all bring different approaches to the table a common skill that is inherent to every designer is the ability to interpret all of this information and to be able to in a efficient fashion extrapolate.

We are talking basic human interaction and melding of ideas. We must have a deep well to draw our creative water from. Ideas that are soluble are very important we need to have the ability to have all necessary concepts come from within and also to mold this to its' state of being. We essentially have to ‘Dream it’, ‘Conceptualize it’, ‘Mold it’, and ‘Create it’. Our tools are imagery, words, sounds, and intellectual and/or entertaining interaction with a subject.

Spending years in the IT/Web field I have been working to achieve fruition of creative work within a technical field, having aptitude and acquaintance with every piece of technology needed to allow myself to achieve this goal. The instruments we use to create and amaze with may change over time but our strive for a creative and meaningful existence will not. As a everlasting impression of our work as a designer is made it may never be removed or erased from the minds of those we have sought to reach with our work.

Whether it is imagery, layout, client relations, or architecture my ability for fitting precise and effective designs, authoring, and artistic drive will show through.
